Laughter - Maningning Miclat

Laughter by Maningning Miclat shows a lot of irony. Her poem's mood or tone is bitterness, she was left behind by her lover so she wanted her readers will feel the same way. She also wanted the people to feel her laughter in a way to hide her feelings. The irony of the poem. I think the scenario in the poem is maningning with her lover is on a fight and having a misunderstanding. Her laughter is an irony of her tears when her lover left her.

Purple clouds stretch and shelter
As I live on my shadow
My sunshine sets forever
with an island to borrow.
